Leather Weather: 7 must-have looks that are Celebrity approved!

COVER STORY / 2021-01-05

The hottest trend of the AW2020 season that all of the celebs are loving is – leather. Everyone from Hailey Baldwin to Kim Kardashian are rocking leather ensembles. Leather pieces are those items in your closet that no matter what your mood is beforehand, the second you put it on, it acts as an immediate mood-booster, making you look and feel more confident. You might own some leather apparel already that you’ve been waiting all summer to put to use. Whether it's over a pair of pants or a jacket, leather will have anyone looking put-together, even if you just rolled out of bed. Leather is a must-have staple of the winter because it’s super versatile and there are tons of different ways to wear it.

With more layers needed, dressing for winter offers a greater opportunity to pile on the fashion. Just ask the world’s best-dressed women – our red carpet celebs. During the colder months, stars from Jennifer Lopez to supermodels like Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss have made the most of the season by pairing excellent coats with scene-stealing dresses. Not to forget, winter also plays host to party season. Start screen grabbing with some leather outfits now. Scroll down to see seven looks that you must try!

1. Leather Coats

Leather trenches are all over Instagram right now. Style your coat with some chic casual wear underneath, like warm leggings, and sporty sneakers. This coat will make even your workout wear look fashionable. Sport a croc emboss leather coat and you can level up just about any piece, don't you think?

2. Leather Pants

We're seeing leather-pants outfits on repeat, on most celebrity pages. Look for a pair of trouser-style leather pants  or simply high waisted legging. And if you don't want to wear real leather, a lot of brands are offering vegan and PU options. Mix things up by going for a shade other than black. Look for colors like brown or bright electric blue.

3. Leather Dress

In the much-talked-about fictional wardrobe of Lily Collins – from Emily in Paris, we doubt you've not already been infatuated with latex dresses. But not only on the Netflix show, but Lily Collins just wore this chic dress on a red carpet – and we’re obsessed. Lily wore a curve-hugging dress from the Saint Laurent F/W 20 collection and the sultry Catwoman vibes followed. Forget cheery floral dresses and sequin skirts this season, get yourself a smokin’ leather dress.

4. Leather Jumpsuit

Jumpsuits are the ultimate lazy outfit, but they can be smart and loud as well. We've had the denim version, the khaki and utilitarian, and now it’s time for the ultimate leather jumpsuit trend. A leather jumpsuit can function like a great solution for an I-am-not-in-the-mood-to-iron-today day. It is a seriously high-fashion item, depending on how you wear it and what you wear it with. Jumpsuits of the leather variety are guaranteed to stand out, as they allow for endless outfit experimentation (think neon heels and oversized belts).

5. Head To Toe Leather

Supermodel Gigi Hadid wore an all-tan leather look during Paris Fashion Week Aw2020 this year. On the other hand, Kourtney Kardashian has time and again looked fabulous in an all-leather outfit. Accessorise your head-to-toe leather look with a small satchel, and minimal Hoop Earrings.

6. Bright Colored Leather

Now that it is officially leather weather, give your style something fresh and even more exciting to look forward to: colored leather. Kim Kardashian is another celeb who absolutely loves the leather and has rocked it on many different occasions. Noone wears leather and latex like Kim – from black ensembles to standout colored leather items. Designers have created luxurious leather apparel in bold hues like ultraviolet, royal blue, and caramel that were simply too gorgeous to resist.

7. Leather Skirt

We've said it above and we'll say it again, celebrities are obsessed with leather! Last but not the least, the spotlight has shone on leather pencil skirts as well. Hollywood can't get enough of the edgy skirts, including trendsetting stars like Michelle Williams, and Angelina Jolie.

Norms have rapidly been redefined this year, and it goes for fashion as well. Emphasize statement making leather looks instead of the usual glittery party attires. The fall-winter trends of 2020-2021 that were introduced last February under novel circumstances, wore leather everywhere. Tis the time for you to fall in love with it and shop some trendy pieces below.
