MOTHER OF PEARL

MOTHER OF PEARL

A prints-centric philosophy punctuates Mother of Pearl’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection with updated interpretations of classic motifs. Taking inspiration from social and fashion photography of the late twentieth century, Creative Director Amy Powney captures the raw energy of domestic relics like vintage wallpaper and dressing gowns and grounds it into modern sportswear.

The latest collection is powered by ornate florals and tartan plaids in unconventional incarnations. Pleated silks, metallic voiles, cascading ruffles and color-blocked trims in signature prints and bold color theories exude a creative luxuriousness. An abstract, avant-garde aesthetic is balanced by statement knitwear and menswear-inspired outerwear in wearable silhouettes. Exquisite craftsmanship, fine textiles and whimsical prints set the stage for Mother of Pearl’s distinct and daring designs of Fall/Winter 2016.
