 Rejoice! Pre-Fall Trends

Most of you might agree, that we have had enough chaos and fuss around us in 2021 to go for complicated silhouettes and impractical designs. Well, good for us. This pre-fall, websites will be lit with unfussy, sexy, and practical clothes, where the big ideas of spring 2021 have been synthesized into garments that celebrate function over form. The Pre-Fall 2021 collections bring with them a season-less feel and timeless wearability for the colder months. From the likes of giants such as  Chanel, Dior, Prada and Louis Vuitton and also the noticeable smaller brands, we can't get enough of the pre-fall collections.

Why do we need a pre collection before fall, you ask? Pre-fall collections are commercially crucial, since they remain on the store floor for a long time and serve as an evolution of the spring season. We are more than excited to share our  top picks for pre-fall 2021 offerings as they are sprinkled with a little something for everyone. From extravagant crystal fringes to abundance of cheery yellow for the eternal optimist and little miss sunshine.

The ‘90s never cease to amaze with the consistent resurgence and popularity. The era’s fashion indeed resonated with pre-fall 2021’s herd of collections this time, as designers took a grungier, more punk skewed approach. There were also seasonal outerwear, most notably at ace fashion house, Bottega Veneta’s stage. In many ways, the pre-fall collections predict the biggest statements to come during the fall fashion shows. Here are six pre-fall trends we are embracing now. While there were a multitude of trends to consider throughout, the emerging trends covered here are the ones we need to start incorporating into our wardrobes right away.

1. Suits + skirts + Country-side vibe

For the past couple of seasons, suits have been everyone’s favorite outfit to channel boss-girl vibes. You know where we’re going with this – large numbers of suits were shown for pre-fall shows, and seems to indicate that the trend is here to stay. This time, it’s about you-do-you tailoring. Wear a Dior’s miniskirt suits or Thom Browne’s mashed-up plaids style suit, as you please. There’s no wrong way to wear a suit in 2021. Gucci, Dior and Balenciaga are among the top luxury brands that adopted the essence of this trend. For spring 2021, the revival of the ‘60s reigned. We therefore expected a continuation of the mini skirt movement for pre-fall 2021, but didn’t see skirts-suit combo  coming. Surprisingly enough, Proenza Schouler, a brand which previously favored a more demure direction, embraced this retro combination.

2. Bare the Bone

The undoubtable sexiest zone on your body other than your beautiful face is the collarbone. Barebone, collarless and off-shoulder designs took over the Pre-fall 2021 runways. From Proenza Schouler’s off-the-shoulder knit dress to Dior’s bustier top, the shoulder-to-shoulder span is the hottest spot on the body. Think of it as a modern answer to all the pouf sleeves. The clavicle is having a moment and top fashion brands are serving up plenty of shoulder-freeing styles, from a 2000s halter to an '80s inspired off-the-shoulder top.

3. New Boho, New Me

Fashion’s response to the unmatching combination of bohemian outfits and winters, is a rainbow and fringe-y take on late ’60s bohemianism, with scarf dresses, psychedelic florals, and zig-zag knits coming in eye-popping colors, that are otherwise seen only on summer runways. One of our favorite trends for pre-fall, unleash your boho-chic goddess with season’s mismatched pieces.

4. Lemony-lime

Sunshine yellow dominated Pre-Fall 2021 collections. Some of our favorites include bright Balenciaga knits and attention-grabbing tulle numbers, courtesy of Gucci. The neon trend from 2009-2010 has resurrected itself slyly and ever so slightly for pre-fall 2021 with an ultra-bright shade of lemon appearing in designer collections. From Valentino, Rag & Bone, and 3.1 Phillip Lim, the color isn’t just being used as an accentuating factor, but rather paired with neutral trenches and easygoing trousers. You'd think that vibrant shades like yellow would be reserved for the spring and summer months but we're telling you, that's not the case this time. Just like everything else has gone other-worldy in 2021 so far, it seems that fashion is following the path. Besides, we think that dark and cold winters are exactly the time when we need a bit of color to brighten up our dreary days!

5. Quilt-y as charged

Centuries old sewing technique – Quilting is back with a bang yet again, in 2021, thanks to Chanel and likes for making it runway-regular. A newer wave of designers – Fendi, Bottega Veneta and Salvatore Ferragamo for Pre-Fall 2021 – are surprising us with the "duvet dressing" for the millennial and Gen-y, Gen-zages. For pre-fall 2021, quilting is not only limited to larger-than-life jackets but also taking shapes of skirts. We love it!

There you go –  we bet these trends have got you excited (even if just a tad bit!) to up your fashion game. Start filling the wishlists. The latest early-autumn offerings are sprinkled with a little something for everyone. So, go ahead and inject your look with a touch of something you can take into next season, as these five pre-fall 2021 fashion trends from the pre-fall lines will be right next to you for the win.
