When Mara Hoffman, known as one of the best swimsuit brands, launched her label in 2000, the Parsons graduate quickly carved her niche with
rainbow kaleidoscopic prints on bodycon dresses and itsy bikinis. Over the past two decades, her
name has become synonymous with vibrant graphics, but in 2017, the designer shifted directions with
a new business model and mantra, committing to sustainable manufacturing and eco-conscious
fabrics.

Cheerful color and carefree shapes continue to cater to a bohemian-minded woman, but mini dresses in
stretch fabrics have been replaced with solid cotton shirtdresses and simple wrap tops for a refined
perspective. It’s a change worth celebrating for the Mara Hoffman customer, for the industry, and
for the earth.

Spring ’18 finds Mara Hoffman reaping what she sews – it’s been a year since she went “green,” and her
fresh approach to design and manufacturing is accruing acclaim from both new and loyal customers. Color
is still the bottom line, with vibrant solids and bold blocking replacing her familiar penchant for
prints. White linen clears the palette in refreshingly abundant shapes. Organic woven fabrics populate
the lineup, lending an understated elegance that’s conveyed through drape and minimalist details. Clean
pleats and full skirts balance plunging necklines and cutouts. Devoid of any trend, a simple
sophistication is evident without isolating their youthful audience. The Spring collection exudes
overall softness – easy on the eyes, and the environment.
