Step Into the Kitsuné Universe: Fashion Beyond Borders
Maison Kitsuné was founded in 2002 by Gildas Loaëc, a former Daft Punk manager, and Masaya Kuroki, an architecture-trained designer, with the bold idea of merging fashion, music, and culture into one universe. What began as a music label quickly expanded into ready-to-wear, guided by the belief that style should be as eclectic as a playlist. The fox (“kitsuné” in Japanese) became the brand’s emblem, symbolizing versatility and reinvention. Early collections won attention for their Parisian tailoring filtered through Japanese precision, while Kitsuné Musique introduced a new generation to indie-electro sounds. Today, with boutiques and Café Kitsuné outposts from Paris to Seoul, the brand’s hybrid DNA has evolved into a global lifestyle empire.
