FALLON
FALLON
Before Valentino popularized well-heeled constituents with spiky footwear, Illinois native Dana Lorenz was incorporating spikes and other hardware into her experimental jewelry pet project. Originally trained as a painter at the University of Iowa and School of Art Institute in Chicago, Lorenz joined the fashion community under the tutelage of powerhouses Gucci and Donna Karan. In 2006, spurred by the growing interest in her unconventional jewelry designs, Lorenz launched the upscale, statement jewelry line Fenton to wide-acclaim.
Whilst wildly popular, the combination of multiple elements and materials limited the richly ornate Fenton line to special occasions. To fulfill the need for a broad selection of edgy, contemporary pieces suitable for any time of day, Lorenz created Fallon in 2008. Unlike its big sister Fenton, the versatile and lower-priced Fallon compilation is designed for the masses. Featuring the designer’s signature layered rope, studs, crystals, chains, micro-spikes, and pearl accents, the collection harmonizes seemingly contradictory pieces and challenges conventional stereotypes to create an attractive tension between tough and chic.
Adored by fashion critics and magazine editors alike, Fallon has been consistently featured in top publications worldwide. In 2010, the Council of Fashion Designers of America nominated Lorenz for the Swarovski Award for Accessory Design. She was also recognized by Italian Vogue as a rising star and was a 2011 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist.
In 2013, Fallon debuted at New York’s Fashion Week for the Spring 2014 season, making Lorenz the first designer to stage a jewelry-centric runway show in the history of NYFW.
The designer has collaborated with Thakoon and Prabal Gurung as well as retailers such as J.Crew and Opening Ceremony. Loyal patrons include first lady Michelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rihanna, Beyonce, and Ophelie Guillermand.
