8 dreamy lipsticks that are inspired by the summer

It’s hard to think about summer time brunches right now and dressing up for the day-soirees, but we can dream about it, right? This year, summer season has come with looks that are the opposite of carefree, bold, and bright. Both fashion and beauty has taken a hit. Although, this time can be utilised to experiment, brush up your knowledge on the latest trends and get adventurous with makeup. There’s something about summer that makes us want to try out new looks. Be it for your zoom meetings, backyard picnics, a quick grocery store run, or a candle-light dinner in the living-room, your makeup look can stand out with the right lipsticks. Take a look at these eight trendiest shades for this year.

1. Beachy light corals

This time, corals are less bright, more dewy, less glossy and more matte. The SS’20 runways were full of light coral colors. And we think an easy way for this trend to translate into makeup is to have a bold eyeliner. Also, we love this trend because it's easier to wear than a neon lipper. The natural yet bright tone of these lipstick is perfect to brighten your smile and makes it easy to wear especially if you're not used to wearing bright colored lipsticks. This color looks good on everyone!

2. Paint the town Red

Classic red is on everyone’s lips this year – quite literally. The current state of isolation all over the world has taken a big toll on spring beauty, and we are glad to have some bright colors for summer. Go with a red that is not skewed towards mauve or orange either, instead has the perfect balance of warm and cool tones. Red never really goes out of style and it is an iconic shade when it comes to lipsticks. Do you know anyone on whom this color doesn't look good on? Hard, it is indeed. So go ahead and stock up on some great reds for spring-summer 2020. And need we remind you, this shade is also perfect for that special Zoom date with the long-distance lover!

3. Bright as an Orange

There has never been a better time to try bright, colorful lipsticks and/or lip glosses, but it is important to sport a casual look. One of the top trending hues right now is orange, particularly in a matte comfortable finish. Just when you grab the right shade for yourself, we bet orange will become your personal favorite go-to bold color for summer. It's bold. It's meticulous. It's tangy. Give it a try, you must!

4. Cinnamon Roll

Darker and earthy hues like the brownish cinnamon are usually opted for during the colder seasons. Yet, this historically bit of an odd choice for summer has broken the barrier and it’s our top fourth recommendation to try this season. The cinnamon shade is a good complement to a bold smokey eye shadow as well as fun multicolored eye shadow. Being a color that is close to natural in some ways, you can go ahead with a subtle stain by just dabbing some product with your finger on your lips, or use it to glide on for a deep coverage. We also love to create monotone face looks with the cinnamon clippers. Just blend a bit of a matte finish lipstick onto the cheeks on medium to tan skin tones. This lip trend is all about natural flushes of color that don't look totally precise or calculated and we’re sure you’re gonna love it!

5. Bubblegum Pink

‘’I am a strong, independent woman who needs to be spun like a fairy-princess’’- if this sentence made you laugh and relate to it, hop onto the bubblegum pink lip color trend. Drop some pink lipstick in your life, a modern take on an '80s classic.  Bring your inner Barbie to life with a shocking pink pout perfect for the plastic doll herself. The new hue for spring is a slightly sugary, slightly nauseating in a near fluorescent finish. If you haven’t tried a bold lip color like this one before, it’s time to sport an exaggerated pout!

6. Popping Purple

Purple lipstick is universally flattering as it has the right mix of cool and warm undertones. That means it really does work for everyone. There’s also a pretty wide range of hues within the purple color family that are trending hot right now – lavender, lilac, fuchsia, eggplant, violet, plum. So, you’ve got plenty to choose from. Go with light, cool purples like lavender and lilac for fair skin since the cool tones complement the cooler tones of fair complexions. For medium to olive skin tones, try violets and plums. Don’t fret before trying out this color. Remember, you are mostly home these days and further, you can adjust intensity of the color on your lips. You get to decide just how strong you want to go when it comes to purple lipstick. There’s a lot of wiggle room, depending on how you apply it.

7. Millennial Pink

Red is indeed the most popular colors of all time but there’s a tough competitor in the market now.Millennial pink has taken the fashion world by storm over the last few years, and this instagram favorite color has stepped right into the beauty section too. According to some survey reports, Millennial pink is the top lip color globally. Over 20 percent of lipstick try-ons in the United States are millennial pink shades. It’s clear that the soft pink finish of millennial pink has made it the color of the moment. The sweet shade lends itself particularly well to makeup, especially lip colors. It’s an easy-to-wear shade that’s less intimidating than some bolder options (sorry red and purple). Needless to say, it is an extremely flattering and feel-good color too.

8. Dramatically Dark

Dark lipstick was at the final frontier of the '90s. Almost-black shades of purple and magenta have been toeing the edge for quite some time, with 2020 taking on the fashionably gothic look once again. This year, paparazzi spotted this color on celebs like Ella Balinska, Florence Pugh, and all over Max Mara's Spring 2020 runway. If you're not quite ready to jump headfirst into the trend, try out a deeper, cooler-toned berry lip first. We recommend trying out a dark lipstick in the oxblood hue to begin with.
