Going with the classics makes looking polished everyday an easier task. When you are not worried about how a new trend looks on you, your “fashion day” falls into place. The blouse story for fall features a lot of classic looks but some feature bold geometric prints that can add an element of fun. It’s wonderful how many designers have done a twist on loafers for Fall 2017 and added a touch of whimsy here in there with metal details and even clear stacked heels. If you’re someone who lives in flats, there are now many boat shoe-inspired styles that put an interesting twist on the prep school look. Faux fur seems to be penetrating both the heel and flat markets and while it is most likely a trend-of-the-moment, it looks great when the rest of your ensemble is more subdued. Bold leather boots that fold or slouch as well as thigh-high suede boots seem to be the trend for winter—but remember that a classic riding boot will get you through this season with comfort and have a better “closet life,” too!
