Top 3 Spring Trends
Top 3 Spring Trends
As Winter makes way for Spring, wardrobes everywhere are being revamped in anticipation of sunnier days and warmer weather. However, for the fashion conscious wary of fleeting trends and never-ending purchases, taking the time to experiment with new ways of wearing essential pieces can often have big payoffs. This season, three trends offer simple ways to immediately lend new looks to basic items, bringing staple pieces to the foreground.
Waist Tying
For Spring 2016, waist-tying has been popularized by designers, fashion bloggers, and sartorial trendsetters alike. Although the idea of cinching at the waist is anything but new, the look has been updated this season for a simple yet so put-together-feeling. Also worth mentioning is the bonus waist-whittling effect.
Unlike Diane von Furstenberg’s famous wrap dress approach, this version of waist-tying involves wide ties that begin at either side of the waist, coming together in the front. From tie waist dresses, tunics, and shirts to casual and formal pants, the style has caught on like wildfire as it can be incorporated into literally every item in the modern woman’s closet.

Shoulder Robing
The great thing about shoulder-robing is that all one needs is a jacket or coat. Depending on the desired look, impactfulness can be easily adjusted through how the ensemble is put together.
For instance, a casual-cool effect can be achieved by working a summer outfit with an oversized denim jacket, artfully slung over the shoulders for an instant chic look. A more dressy outfit might comprise ripped jeans, a silk shirt, and an embellished jacket shoulder-robed over the outfit, making for great trans-seasonal dressing into the warmer months. Cropped leather jackets perfectly positioned across the shoulders also offer instant style when paired with jeans, a skirt, or fitted dress.

Cuffed Jeans
Finally, cuffed jeans make for another versatile trend anyone can try. Skinny, pin roll, single roll, double-cuff — these rolling techniques take denim wearing to a whole new level. Both skinny and baggy jeans can use some hem-handling for maximum wearability.
